Kishu - Kisshu

Kilju County, North Hamgyong Province, North Korea. The county seat. A junction of the Wonra Line and the Hyesan Line, it is the gateway to the Gaema Plateau region. It is the center of wood processing using forest resources in Ryanggang Province, and is home to the Kilju Pulp Factory. Artificial silk thread and spun mulberry are produced using corn and reeds as raw materials. Field crops are the main agricultural products.

北朝鮮、咸鏡北道(かんきょうほくどう／ハムギョンプクド)吉州郡にある邑(ゆう)（町）。郡の所在地。元羅線と恵山線の分岐点で、蓋馬(かいま／ケーマー)高原地方への門戸となっている。両江道(りょうこうどう／リャンカンド)の林産資源による木材加工業の中心地で、吉州パルプ工場がある。トウモロコシとアシを原料に人造絹糸とスフを生産している。農産物は畑作物が主である。
