A type of stone coffin in which the deceased was buried, mainly in the late Kofun period. It has a box-shaped body with a roof-like lid. A typical roof has four or six rope-hanging protrusions, and there are two types of body: hollowed-out and assembled. Well-known sources of stone include Mt. Futakami in Kinai, Mt. Tatsuyama in Harima, and Mt. Namigata in Kibi.
