《Iklil》(English spelling)

…He became embroiled in political struggles in his later years and died in prison in Sana'a. His representative works include the geography works "Characteristics of the Arabian Peninsula" and "The Crown of Iklīl." The latter in particular is an encyclopedic work that is indispensable for understanding the history, genealogy, topography, and literature of the southern Arab tribes, which are less well-documented than those of the northern Arab tribes in Arab history. Originally a large work consisting of ten volumes, only four remain, and of these, the eighth volume, which describes the forts of Yemen, is the most famous.
