With the prosperity of the dynasty as a backdrop, Buddhist-led art developed in the two major centers of Gandhara and Mathura. In the Gandhara region, this period lasted until the fall of the Kidarite dynasty in the mid-5th century. The influence that Buddhist art had on subsequent generations in India, Central Asia, and China was unparalleled.
