It also lists dust as "chiri" or "kokori," and garbage, straw waste, and weeds as "akuta." It also lists dust and akuta as "gomoku." Early modern laws and regulations use words such as garbage, dust, and akuta, but do not strictly distinguish what they refer to. In the early modern period, garbage disposal began to be included in urban policies.
