No hunting zone - Kinryoku

Japanese: 禁猟区 - きんりょうく

Areas where hunting is prohibited in order to actively protect and increase wildlife. These include (1) wildlife protection areas (including special protected areas) established by the Minister of the Environment and prefectural governors, (2) closed hunting areas that can be designated by prefectural governors for a period of up to three years, which may cover approximately one-third of the area that is permitted to be hunted, (3) parks and green spaces designated by the Minister of the Environment, and other similar areas, (4) public roads, (5) temple and shrine grounds, and cemeteries. There are also areas where hunting with guns is prohibited, but only traps and nets are permitted. Historically, from the Nara and Heian periods, there were areas designated by the imperial family and feudal lords as "imperial hunting grounds" and "imperial falconry grounds" where hunting by commoners was prohibited.

鳥獣の積極的な保護増殖をはかるため，狩猟を禁止されている場所。 (1) 環境大臣および都道府県知事が設定する鳥獣保護区 (特別保護地域を含む) ，(2) 都道府県知事が3年以内の期限で可猟地域の3分の1程度を常時指定できる休猟区，(3) 環境大臣の指定する公園・緑地，その他これに準じる場所，(4) 公道，(5) 社寺境内および墓地，などがある。ほかに，罠や網などによる捕獲だけを認めている銃猟禁止地域がある。歴史的には奈良・平安時代から皇室や領主により庶民の狩猟を禁じた「御猟場」「御鷹場」などの区域があった。
