A Zen monk-painter from the late Southern Song Dynasty in China. His history is unknown. His name may have been Wakakei. There are still extant portraits bearing the seal of Soto, such as the Sixth Patriarch Holding a Shoulder, and these are thought to be the Soto of the Kunitai Kanso Choki. His style follows the style of the "Bongryang" painting that was popular in the world of Zen painting at the end of the Song Dynasty.
