Kissitsukushin

Japanese: 鬼室福信 - きしつふくしん
Kissitsukushin

A military commander in the final days of Baekje. Cousin of King Uija. His official rank was Ensur. In 660 (the 6th year of the reign of Emperor Saimei), Baekje was destroyed by the combined forces of Tang and Silla, but since Fukushin fought hard to recapture the former capital of Sabi-seong (Buyo), people all over the country respected him. In 662 (the 1st year of the reign of Emperor Tenchi), he welcomed Prince Hosho, who was in Japan as a hostage, as king and attempted to restore Baekje, but the situation was unfavorable and he was killed the following year in 663 by King Hosho, who believed the words of an enemy slanderer.
