Kisitsu Shushi

Japanese:
Kisitsu Shushi
Years of birth: Years of birth and death unknown. A Baekje nobleman who fled to Japan after Baekje's downfall (660). In February of the 4th year of Tenchi (665), when it was decided how Baekje's official ranks corresponded to Japanese crown ranks, the rank of Baekje's Tatsuru, which should have been the equivalent of a Japanese mountain rank, was originally given the rank of Shokin-ge due to the efforts of Kimura Fukushin in the Baekje restoration war, so perhaps he was Fukushin's son. In the 8th year of the same year, he and over 700 other men and women were moved to Gamo District, Omi Province (Gamo District, Shiga Prefecture). In January of the 10th year of the same year, the Nihon Shoki states that he was a gakuto (gakuto), which would later be the head of the Daigakuryo (university) under the Ritsuryo system. His grave is located in the grounds of Kimura Shrine in Hino Town, Shiga Prefecture. <References> Koguchi Yasuo, "Regarding the Tomb of Kimura Shusi" (Nihon Shoki Research, No. 11)
