Myofibril - muscle fibril

The myofibrils are the building blocks of muscle microstructure, and consist of numerous microfilaments that run lengthwise within a muscle cell (muscle fiber). They are about 1 nm in diameter, and are internally composed of filaments that are molecular assemblies of actin and myosin. Skeletal muscle myofibrils have a striated structure that is repeated at a regular interval along their length. 筋肉の微細構造の構成単位であって，筋肉細胞 (筋繊維) 内をその長さの方向に走っている多数の微小繊維。直径 1nm程度であって，内部は，アクチンとミオシンとの分子集合体のフィラメントから構成されている。骨格筋の筋原繊維には，長さの方向に一定の繰返しをもって横紋構造が認められる。
