A cold-tolerant annual plant of the Asteraceae family (APG classification: Asteraceae). Native to Texas, USA. The leaves are opposite, the lower leaves are broadly elliptical with slightly pinnate lobes, and the upper leaves have linear lobes. From spring to the long day period, many branched stems appear from the lower part. The plant is 50-60 cm tall, and produces many flowers with a diameter of 4-5 cm at the top. The ray florets around the plant are golden yellow, and the central tubular flowers are bright brown. The way the flowers sway in the wind in the flower bed is just like the English name "golden wave". It flowers in early summer. It is extremely hardy, and is cultivated for flower beds and gardens. It is sown in autumn, planted in the area to be used as a flower bed, and allowed to overwinter with simple frost protection. It grows well in any soil.
