...In the case of a clinic, it is called an emergency clinic. A 1964 ordinance from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare changed the designated system (emergency designated hospitals), which had been designated by firefighting agencies, to a voluntary application system in which prefectural governors make public announcements based on voluntary applications. When applying, conditions are set, such as the hospital having a doctor with knowledge and experience in medical care for accident victims who is always engaged in medical care, having the necessary medical equipment such as operating rooms and hospital rooms, and being located in a convenient location for emergency teams to transport injured and sick people.
