...The name Tamon-in Diary comes from the fact that in the early modern period, the temple Daijo-in began copying Hideshun's diary and other diaries, and in the mid-modern period, it was expanded to a total of 46 volumes, with the title "Tamon-in Diary" written on the cover of each volume. However, among these, "Bunmei 10th Year Diary" and "Bunmei 15th, Bunmei 16th, Bunmei 17th Year Diary of Tamon-in Sanefusa Hideshun" are diaries of Gakukenbo Sogei, and "Eisho 2nd Year Otsuushi, Eisho 3rd Year Heiin" are diaries of Enkyobo Kensei. Also, "Tensho 891st Year Diary Betsukaishoki" is an excerpt of the same year's section from Betsukai Goshi Soei's diary, but the author is unknown, along with "Keicho 4th Year Diary" and "Genwa 2nd Year Heijin, Genwa 3rd Year Choshi, Genwa 4th Year Bogo Rukakuki, Gyokuzoki."...

…多聞院日記の称は，近世初頭より同寺大乗院において英俊の日記ほかを書写しはじめ，近世半ばに全46帖となし，各帖の表紙に〈多聞院日記〉と記したのによる。しかしこのうち〈文明十年日記〉〈文明十五年･文明十六年･文明十七年多聞院長実房英俊之記〉は学賢房宗芸の日記，〈永正二年乙丑･同三年丙寅日記〉は延尭房賢清の日記である。また〈天正八九十之記別会所記〉は別会五師宗栄の日記より同年の部分の抄写であるが，〈慶長四年日記〉〈元和二年丙辰･元和三年丁巳･元和四年戊午流覚記･玉蔵記〉とともにその筆者は不明である。…
