...There are 30 Stone Age ruins that use limestone rock shelters and caves, distributed across the three counties of Hiba, Jinseki, and Kono, and also extending into Okayama Prefecture. Ruins such as Umadori Rock Shed, Yorikura Rock Shed, Nagoe Rock Shed, Saruana Rock Shed, Shiraishi Cave, Ushikawa Rock Shed (all in Tojo Town), Kannondo Cave (Jinseki Town), Sarukami Rock Shed (Aburagi Town), and Domen Cave (Toyomatsu Village) have been under investigation for over 20 years since the first investigation at Umadori in 1987. Artefacts from each period of the Jomon period have been excavated from each of these ruins. ...
