Kyrie eleison (Lord have mercy) is a hymn in the Mass liturgy. It is also the first chapter of a polyphonic mass consisting of five ordinary chants. While the other four chapters are sung in Latin, this chapter is the only one in Greek. It is also used as a chapter in a requiem.
