Inshi (worship) - Inshi

Japanese: 淫祠（祀） - いんし

...a folk belief or religion that was deemed by the state or the rulers to have an anti-establishment tendency. Inshi is also called inshi, which is a similar term to heresy and the left path. In China, during the Qin and Han dynasties, the state organized folk rituals and established a ritual ceremony with the rite of worshiping heaven at its apex.

Those not listed in the code were considered to be obscene shrines (evil cults), and were sometimes destroyed by zealous local officials as they deviated from Confucian ideals of ritual.
