Yoshiyasu Kira

Yoshiyasu Kira
?-? A military commander in the Sengoku period.
The second son of Kira Yoshitaka. Born into the Saijo Kira family in Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture), he was adopted by Mochihiro of the Tojo Kira family. In 1561, he was suspected of treason by Imagawa Ujizane and imprisoned in Sunpu. In 1566, when his younger brother Yoshiaki, who had been exiled to Tojo Castle, fled to Omi (Shiga Prefecture), Matsudaira Motoyasu (Tokugawa Ieyasu) allowed him to hold both Tojo and Saijo. His nickname was Saburo.

吉良義尭(よしたか)の次男。三河(愛知県)西条吉良家に生まれ,東条吉良家の持広の養子となる。永禄(えいろく)4年(1561)今川氏真(うじざね)に謀反をうたがわれ,駿府(すんぷ)に幽閉される。6年東条城にうつされていた弟義昭が近江(おうみ)(滋賀県)に逃亡すると,松平元康(徳川家康)から東条・西条の併有をゆるされた。通称は三郎。
