Born on March 1, 1901. In 1936, he became general secretary of the All Japan General Confederation of Labour Headquarters. In 1947, he became a member of the House of Representatives (elected three times, Socialist Party). After the formation of Sohyo, he became general secretary at the re-establishment conference of the General Confederation of Japanese Labour Unions in 1951. He died in the sinking of the Toya Maru on September 26, 1954. He was 53 years old. He was from Ehime Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University.
