Prince Kyo - Prince Kyo
A member of the imperial family of the Qing Dynasty in China. The sixth son of Emperor Daoguang and the younger brother of Emperor Xianfeng. His name was Yi (Eki-kin). He was made king after his brother ascended to the throne. He assisted the emperor and dealt with the Taiping Rebellion and the Arrow War. He switched from being anti-foreign to being a Western-style politician. He plotted with Empress Dowager Dong and Empress Dowager Cixi to wipe out the former aides who had supported Emperor Tongzhi in a coup. As Minister of the Council of State, he held real power both domestically and internationally.
