Year of death: June 12, 1637 (August 2, 1637) Year of birth: Bunroku 2 (1593) A feudal lord in the early Edo period. Lord of Matsue Domain in Izumo Province (Shimane Prefecture). Son of Takatsugu, lord of Obama Domain in Wakasa Province (Fukui Prefecture), his mother was Jokoin. Born in Akui, Kyoto. Wakasa no Kami, later Sakon'e Gon no Shosho. In 1609, he inherited his father's territory. In 1615, he fought in the Siege of Osaka. In 1634, he was transferred to Izumo and Oki with a fief of over 264,000 koku. He made his castle in Matsue. Tadataka was treated as a relative of the Tokugawa clan, as his mother was the elder sister of Sugenin, the wife of the second shogun, Tokugawa Hidetada. He died in Edo.
