Political neutrality of education

...Under a constitution based on popular sovereignty and respect for human rights, the people's freedom of thought and belief and the right to pursue happiness are guaranteed, education is a right of the people, and the state must strictly reject the imposition of its will on the people. The Fundamental Law of Education is based on this constitutional ideal, and in Article 8 it provides for "political education," stating that "political education necessary for a sensible citizen must be respected in education," proclaiming the necessity of political education, while in paragraph 2 it states that "schools established by law shall not engage in political education or other political activities aimed at supporting or opposing a particular political party," confirming the principle of political neutrality in education.
