Kawakami Shrine

Japanese: 河上神社 - かわかみじんじゃ
Kawakami Shrine
Located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture. The current name of the shrine is Yodohime Shrine. Formerly a prefectural shrine. The deity enshrined is Yodohime no Mikoto. It is identified as the Yodohime Goddess Shrine in the Engishiki. It is the Ichinomiya of Hizen Province. In the Middle Ages, the Jinguji temple Jisso-in had the authority to manage the shrine's affairs. The 240 documents from Kawakami Shrine, including those from the Heian and Kamakura periods, which have been passed down by Jisso-in, are designated as Important Cultural Properties.
