Kawakami Shrine

Located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture. The current name of the shrine is Yodohime Shrine. Formerly a prefectural shrine. The deity enshrined is Yodohime no Mikoto. It is identified as the Yodohime Goddess Shrine in the Engishiki. It is the Ichinomiya of Hizen Province. In the Middle Ages, the Jinguji temple Jisso-in had the authority to manage the shrine's affairs. The 240 documents from Kawakami Shrine, including those from the Heian and Kamakura periods, which have been passed down by Jisso-in, are designated as Important Cultural Properties. 佐賀県佐賀市に鎮座。現社号は与止日女(よどひめ)神社。旧県社。祭神は与止日女命(よどひめのみこと)。延喜式内の与止日女神社の比定社。肥前国一宮。中世には神宮寺の実相(じっそう)院が社務管理権限を持っていた。実相院が伝来してきた平安・鎌倉期を含む河上神社文書240通は重要文化財。
