Tyrant of Corinth (Corinthos) in ancient Greece (reigned c. 657–c. 625 BC). He overthrew the Bacchiadae oligarchy. During his reign he was harsh on the nobility but enjoyed the support of the people. He also exported fine ceramics overseas and promoted the colonization of Leucas, Ambracia, and Anactorium.
