GS Hall published the results of his research on the mental content of children, which promoted the so-called child study movement, and James McKeen Cattell wrote Mental Test and Measurement, laying the foundations for the educational measurement movement. Then, in the 20th century, with these as a background, EL Thorndike attempted to systematize educational psychology.
