〘noun〙① The act of accepting new experiences and remembering them. In particular, the correct memorization of linguistic material through repetition. *Mari Ichiban (1884)〈Uemura Masahisa〉vol. 7 "The memory traces which are assumed to exist in the brain" ② To write something down as an inscription. To give a name or phrase to a particular product, etc. Also, that name or phrase. *Lucretius and Science (1929)〈Terada Torahiko〉vol. 1 "It would be fitting to inscribe this on the wall of the smoking room of some scientific research institute."
