Born in 1839. Father of Kimura Shohachi, Kimura Soju, and Kimura Sotoji. Served at the Kagoshima Domain in Kyoto, and moved to Tokyo in 1878. Devoted himself to privatizing the government slaughterhouse and founding the meat wholesalers association. Opened a beef hotpot chain called "Iroha" in various locations in Tokyo, leaving its operation to his mistresses. Died on April 27, 1906. Age 66. Born in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture).
