Shozaburo Kimura

...The first retired in 1893 (Kansei 5), called himself Shikimori Kagyu, and wrote the book "Sumo Kakure-un-kai" (Sumo Incognito Gaiden), which conveyed the secrets of sumo. From this time on, there were two Edo gyoji families, Kimura and Shikimori, but in 1886, when Kimura Seido changed his name to Shikimori Onichiro, the distinction between the two families disappeared, and in 1911, Kimura Shozaburo took on the names of the 10th Inosuke and then the 17th Shonosuke. Since then, this form of promotion has become common, and Inosuke continues to exist today as the tachigyoji, second only to Shonosuke. ...
