"I miss you" - Kimikoishi

Japanese: 《君恋し》 - きみこいし
"I miss you" - Kimikoishi

...Masao Koga added the kobushi to this, making it closer to folk song, and in his song Sake wa namida ka tameiki ka (Sake is tears or sighs) (lyrics by Takahashi Kikutaro, 1931), the guitar was used in a shamisen style, closely linking popular songs and the guitar and establishing the musical style of popular songs.
[Jazz Pop]
Shortly after the Showa era began, foreign record companies such as Victor and Columbia entered Japan, and jazz and other popular music was rapidly imported, leading to the creation of songs with jazz rhythms such as "Kimi Koishi" (Words by Shigure Otoha, Music by Sasa Kouka, 1928). It was Hattori Ryoichi who perfected the style of placing popular melody over accompaniment with foreign rhythms and feelings, and his song "Wakare no Blues" (Words by Fujiura Ko, 1937) sparked a blues boom.

From the Showa Depression

...With the appearance of the gramophone and records, the heyday of popular songs arrived. Hits such as "Kimi koishi" (Longing for you) and "Tokyo march" that remain in the history of pop music were born in 1929. Then, in 1931, when the recession hit bottom, sad melodies such as "Sake wa namida ka tameiki ka" (Are your tears or sighs?) and "Kage wo moite" (Yearning for your shadow) composed by Koga Masao captured people's hearts.
