A saprophytic plant of the orchid family (APG classification: Orchidaceae). It is similar to the Japanese orchid, but its flowers are pale yellow. It produces many flowers, with 6 to 17 flowers, each about 2 cm in diameter, arranged rather densely. It also has a characteristic that its rhizome branches significantly. While the Japanese orchid is distributed somewhat biased toward the Sea of ​​Japan side, this species is distributed on the Pacific coast of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu west of the Kanto region.
