Heilsgeschichte

Japanese: Heilsgeschichte
Heilsgeschichte

...The "New Covenant" is the word of the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah, which was fulfilled in Christ, and the Christian church celebrates the "New Covenant" in the Eucharist (Mark 14:24 records that Christ said at the Last Supper (the origin of the Eucharist) "This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many," and 1 Corinthians 11:25 records that "This cup is the new covenant in my blood."). The idea of the covenant not only gave a personal and ethical quality to the relationship between God and humans, but also provided a historical perspective of the "old covenant" and the "new covenant," giving rise to the theological thought with a world-historical perspective known as the "Heilsgeschichte," or "salvation history." In the ancient Christian world, Irenaeus established the theology of salvation history, and in modern times, the Puritans of 17th century England and America, and the Reformed theologian Johannes Coccejus (1603-69) of continental Europe developed the concept of covenant anew through "covenant theology."
