Hiroyoshi Yoshikawa
1621-1679 A samurai from the early Edo period.
Born on July 6, 1621. Grandson of Yoshikawa Hiroie. Lord of Iwakuni Castle in Suo (Yamaguchi Prefecture). Devoted himself to the reclamation of the mouth of the Iwakuni River, the development of copper mines, and the rise of the paper industry. He built a storehouse in Nakanoshima, Osaka, and expanded sales channels, among other things, to promote the economy. In the first year of the Enpo era, he built the Kintai Bridge. He died on August 16, 1621. He was 59 years old. His original names were Hiroyoshi and Hirozumi.

元和(げんな)7年7月6日生まれ。吉川広家の孫。周防(すおう)(山口県)岩国城主。岩国川河口の干拓,銅山開発,製紙業興隆につくし,大坂中之島に蔵屋敷をもうけ販路を拡大するなど経済振興につとめる。延宝元年に錦帯橋をつくった。延宝7年8月16日死去。59歳。初名は広佳,広純。
