Akiyasu Kitabatake

?-? A military commander from the Nanboku-cho to Muromachi periods.
The second son of Kitabatake Akiyoshi. He succeeded his father as governor of Ise Province and fought as a military commander on the side of the Southern Court, based in Tage Castle in Ise (Mie Prefecture). After the unification of the Northern and Southern Courts, he made peace with the shogunate. In 1399, he attacked Ouchi Yoshihiro, who had rebelled against the shogunate, at Sakai in Izumi (Osaka Prefecture), and was awarded half of the province of Iga (Mie Prefecture) and Koga County in Omi (Shiga Prefecture) for his achievements. His name is also pronounced "Akihiro."

北畠顕能(あきよし)の次男。父から伊勢(いせ)国司をつぎ,南朝方武将として伊勢(三重県)多気(たげ)城を拠点にたたかい,南北朝合一後は幕府と講和。応永6年(1399)幕府にそむいた大内義弘(よしひろ)を和泉(いずみ)(大阪府)堺に攻め,功により伊賀(いが)(三重県)半国と近江(おうみ)(滋賀県)甲賀郡をあたえられた。名は「あきひろ」ともよむ。
