…Plant chimeras are broadly divided into segmental chimeras, marginal segmental chimeras, and marginal chimeras. A well-known example of a chimera from long ago is the plant Cytisus adami or Laburum adami . It was created in 1829 by a gardener named Adam, who grafted a bud of Cytisus purpureus onto a rootstock of Laburum vulgare , and it was propagated by cuttings and widely cultivated for ornamental purposes.
