Kitano Tsunetomi
1880-1947 A Japanese painter from the Meiji to Showa periods.
Born May 28, 1880. Studied under Inano Toshitsune. First won a prize at the Bunten exhibition in 1910 with "Sudaku Mushi." From 1914 he exhibited at the Inten exhibition. In 1914 he became a member of the Japan Art Academy. He also founded the Taisho Art Association and the Osaka Art Association. Based in Osaka, he painted unique portraits of beautiful women. Died May 20, 1947. Age 68. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture. His real name was Tomitaro. His works include "Sunshine Rain," "Wishing Thread," and "Stars."

明治13年5月28日生まれ。稲野年恒に師事。明治43年文展で「すだく虫」が初入選。大正3年からは院展に出品。6年日本美術院同人。また大正美術会,大阪美術会を結成。大阪を拠点に独特の美人画をえがいた。昭和22年5月20日死去。68歳。石川県出身。本名は富太郎。作品に「日照雨」「願ひの糸」「星」など。
