Born May 28, 1880. Studied under Inano Toshitsune. First won a prize at the Bunten exhibition in 1910 with "Sudaku Mushi." From 1914 he exhibited at the Inten exhibition. In 1914 he became a member of the Japan Art Academy. He also founded the Taisho Art Association and the Osaka Art Association. Based in Osaka, he painted unique portraits of beautiful women. Died May 20, 1947. Age 68. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture. His real name was Tomitaro. His works include "Sunshine Rain," "Wishing Thread," and "Stars."
