Kannonzaki

Japanese: 観音崎 - かんのんざき

A cape at the eastern end of the Miura Peninsula in the southeastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture. It belongs to Yokosuka City. It is the border between Tokyo Bay and the Uraga Strait. Since it is only 8 km away from Cape Futtsu on the Boso Peninsula, you can see the ships entering and leaving Tokyo and Yokohama ports from the sea platform. The Tokyo Bay Marine Traffic Center is also located here. A battery was installed here at the end of the Edo period, and in 1869, Japan's oldest Western-style lighthouse was built. For a long time, it was an army fortified area and inaccessible, so the natural forest has been protected and there are many wild birds. A nature museum and an observation deck have been built around the lighthouse, and it is a good place for picnics, fishing, and swimming.

Kannonzaki

A cape located in Nanao City on the east coast of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. It faces the Koguchi Seto Strait in the southern bay of Nanao Bay, and is located on the route to and from Nanao Port. It has a lighthouse. Kannon Island is located at the tip of the cape, and it is a scenic spot that is part of the Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park.

神奈川県南東部，三浦半島東端の岬。横須賀市に属する。東京湾と浦賀水道との境界にあたる。房総半島の富津岬との間は 8kmしかないため，海食台上から東京港，横浜港に出入りする船を一望できる。東京湾海上交通センターがある。江戸時代末に砲台が据えられ，明治2 (1869) 年日本最古の洋式灯台が設けられた。長らく陸軍の要塞地帯となって立入りできなかったため，自然林が保護され，野鳥も多い。灯台を中心に自然博物館や展望台が設けられ，ピクニック，釣り，海水浴などの好適地となっている。
