It is a collective term for the Kiku Mountains facing Honshu from the northeast, the Nuki Mountains on the east side of the Murasaki River and the Fukuchi Mountains on the west side, the Mikuni Mountains between the Chikuho Basin and the Fukuoka Plain, the Minou Mountains south of the Chikugo River, the Chikuhi Mountains that straddle both Fukuoka and Kumamoto prefectures, the Sefuri Mountains on the border between Fukuoka and Saga prefectures, and the Hizen Mountains that stretch from Saga to Nagasaki prefecture. Many of these mountain ranges are thought to be fault mountain ranges, but this has not yet been confirmed. …
