Azatiwataya

…the site of the late Hittite period in central Turkey near the Mediterranean Sea. It is the fortress city of Azatiwataya, built by King Azatiwata in the 8th century BCE. An inscription consisting of Hittite hieroglyphics and the same Phoenician characters was discovered here in 1946 and reported in 1947.
