"The Battle of Osaka in Summer" - The Battle of Osaka in Summer

According to the Honmaru map by the master carpenter Nakai family, which is thought to be the instructions for the construction of the castle, the Honmaru was quite different from the Tokugawa period, with the Omote-muki Palace to the south, the Okumuki Palace where Hideyoshi and Kita no Mandokoro lived in the center, and the Tenshu in the northeast corner. The Tenshu was two stories high, partly inside the stone walls, and six stories above them, and its appearance is depicted in the Osaka Summer Battle Screen, formerly owned by the Kuroda family. The current concrete Tenshu was restored based on this drawing and built on the stone walls of the Tenshu base from the Tokugawa period, and was completed in 1931.
