〘Noun〙① A word that likens the air surrounding the earth to the sea. ② In Chinese medicine, the area about one inch below the navel. It is considered the source of vital energy. → Ki-kai Tanden. ※Man'an Kanahogo (mid-18th century): "The area one and a half inches below the navel is called Ki-kai, and it is the place that stores and nourishes vitality."
