A trade organization formed by the government in 1873 (Meiji 6) under the guidance of Yokohama raw silk dealers and local raw silk merchants. This aimed to unify the distribution routes between producers, local merchants and dealers, and following the establishment of the Yokohama Raw Silk Trade Company in 1873, trade trade companies were established in various regions. However, foreign countries viewed this as a "silk guild" that violated the commercial treaties that guaranteed freedom of trade, and protested to the Japanese government, which was forced to relax regulations and abolished it in 1877.
