Kanfuchi - Kanfuchi

Japanese: カンフチ - かんふち
Kanfuchi - Kanfuchi

...In the Miyako Islands, there are songs such as Fusa, which praise the gods by telling the story of the descent and birth of the gods and the creation of villages, Tabi, which means worshiping the gods, Pyashi, which also praises the gods, and Niiri, which uses elements of these divine songs to grandiosely describe the feats of ancestor gods. In the Yaeyama Islands, there are songs such as Kanfuchi, in which the gods themselves speak, and Nigaifuchi, in which prayers are offered to the gods. These divine songs played the role of the prototype of Okinawan folk songs, with Umui becoming the womb of Omoro, Niiri becoming the source of Aagu, and Kanfuchi becoming the basis of Ayou and Jiraba.
