Kambalda (English spelling)

A mining town located 56 km south of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in the southern part of Western Australia, Australia. Nickel deposits were discovered in 1966, and the town was established in 1967 for the purpose of nickel mining and concentrate processing. Nickel concentrate is transported by rail to the export port of Esperance and to the smelter in Kwinana. Salt is produced at nearby Lake Lefroy. Population 3,519 (1986).
