...He was a disciple of Touensai Akutagawa Sadasa of Hiroshima. He was the founder of the so-called Ganpo school, and during the Tenmei era (1781-89) had 1,500 disciples. After the death of Nagata Teiryu, he divided the Osaka kyoka world into two schools, the Kuri school led by Ritsukatei Bokutan.
