Japanese: 眼底カメラ - がんていカメラ（英語表記）fundus camera

A camera for photographing the condition of the fundus. Attempts at fundus photography began about 10 years after the development of the ophthalmoscope, with the early days being in the 1890s. In recent years, with advances in photosensitive materials and optical design, fundus photography has become a routine part of ophthalmic treatment as an indispensable device for recording and researching the fundus. The camera is assembled with an integrated illumination source and imaging section, and has a special function of eliminating harmful reflections from the corneal surface and illuminating and photographing the inside of the eye through a pupil less than 10 mm in diameter.

眼底の状態を撮影するためのカメラ。眼底撮影の試みは検眼鏡の開発後10年ほどですでに始まり，1890年代が黎明期であった。近年，感光材料，光学設計などが進み，眼底の記録･研究には不可欠の装置として，眼底写真撮影は眼科診療の日常業務になっている。カメラは照明光源と撮影部とが一体となって組み立てられており，主として角膜表面の有害反射をなくし，かつ径10mmに満たない瞳孔から眼内照明と撮影を行う特別の機能をもっている。
