Guan Tong (English)

A Chinese painter from the Five Dynasties Later Liang Dynasty (907-923). "Tong" can also be written as "Tong." He was from Chang'an (Shaanxi Province). He first studied under Jing Hao and excelled in large-scale landscape paintings, but later perfected a style of grand landscape painting using simple brushwork, which had a great influence on landscape painters of the Song Dynasty. His work is said to be "Autumn Mountains in Evening Green" (National Palace Museum, Taipei). 中国，五代後梁 (907～923) の画家。「同」は「童」などとも書く。長安 (陝西省) の人。初め荊浩 (けいこう) に学び大構図の山水画を得意としたが，のち簡潔な筆法による雄大な山水画風を完成，宋代の山水画家に多大の影響を与えた。伝称作品『秋山晩翠図』 (台北，故宮博物院) 。
