Born on July 10, 1898. Founded the Architectural History Research Society in 1937, and began publishing "Architectural History" in 1949. Debated with Kita Sadakichi and others as an advocate of the new non-reconstruction of Horyuji Temple. Died on December 29, 1941. Age 44. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. Written works include "Research on the Yakushiji Temple Complex" and "Research on the History of Japanese Sculpture."
