A skin disease caused by infection with various types of tinea fungi. It is most common in men, especially on the genitals. It is also called tinea cruris. It presents as a clearly demarcated red bump accompanied by small papules and blisters. It causes intense itching, especially at night. Scratching can lead to eczema. It is commonly referred to as "jock itch" together with scrotal eczema, but tinea cruris does not affect the scrotum. A specialist examination is required for differentiation. Treatment involves applying an anti-tinea fungal agent, but it is advisable to receive treatment from a specialist.

各種白癬菌の感染による皮膚病。男子に多く特に陰部に好発する。股部白癬ともいう。境界明瞭な赤い隆起を示し，小丘疹(きゅうしん)，小水疱(すいほう)を伴う。かゆみが激しく，特に夜間ははなはだしい。かくことにより湿疹化する。陰嚢(いんのう)湿疹などと合わせて〈いんきんたむし〉と混称されるが，頑癬は陰嚢は侵さない。鑑別には専門医の検査を要する。治療は抗白癬菌剤の塗布だが，専門医の治療を受けるのが望ましい。
