Kawachigo

...The center of the area is Iwaya, where Ugo-Iwaya Station on the Uetsu Main Line is located. In the Middle Ages, it was the territory of Yuri Junizu, and in the early modern period, it was the territory of Kameda Domain and was called Kawaouchigo. Cultivated land spreads across the river terraces and alluvial plains along the Imo River, and rice, melons, and snow peas are mainly grown.
