...The family's status was half. In 1496 (Meiō 5), the father and son, Kujō Masamoto, the former chancellor, and his son, Hisatsugu, the provisional chief counselor, murdered the Ōnaiki Karahashi Arikazu, but in 1498, Arikazu's son, Ariname, inherited the remains, and the family name was spared from extinction. However, it seems that the family name was temporarily interrupted between Ariname and the next Arimichi.
