A seaweed in the family Baroniaceae, order Euphorbiaceae, belonging to the order Chlorophyta. It is found in the central and southern Pacific coast of Honshu, the northwest coast of Kyushu, the Ryukyu Islands, the East China Sea, and widely in the Malay Archipelago, Polynesia, Australia, the Indian Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean. It grows on rocks from the intertidal zone to below the low tide line. It is spherical or hemispherical, oblong, 1 to 3 cm in size, and pale green in color. 緑藻類ミドリゲ目バロニア科の海藻。本州太平洋岸中南部,九州西北岸をはじめとし,南西諸島,東シナ海から広くマレー諸島,ポリネシア,オーストラリア,インド洋,大西洋に分布する。潮間帯から低潮線以下の岩石上に着生する。1~3cmの球状ないし半球状,長楕円形で淡い緑色をしている。質は硬く,1層の細胞層からできていて中空である。
